About time! Here's a bunch of characters!
To help me out a little, I did a bunch of quick digital sketches and inks on my iPad in Procreate. I was concentrating more on finishing something, so there are a few poses I wish I'd of done looser, but! They're finished.
I want to describe all of these characters for you, but I can't right now. So hey!
Just remember:

Skin Tone Study
Warnin': Blatant nudity.
Working on this between commissions as a skin/tone study. I've been trying to soften my shading and make it more subtle when it comes to skin as I work on my comic. I want that thing to look good. smile emoticon
And what better way to do a skin study?
Reference used, about two and a half hours.

Sereana Amai, Queen of Nightmares
It's been a while, amiright?
Sorry, life's been kinda kicking my ass and got myself into a block. BUT! I think I'm busting out of it now as I finished something for myself.
This is Sereana Amai, Queen of Nightmares. Like her two cousins, Inada and Azrael, she was one of the many who suddenly manifested powers (and a jewel in her forehead) when the world was on the verge of breaking.
Like her cousins, she seeminly has a very long life, but her powers differ from the elements. She controls the dead and anything of the like. However, her nightmares are controlled by her 'shadow', an odd doppleganer (under her) who had given her nightmares endlessly until she learned to control it.
Her shadow can conjure up some of the most intense and horrifying visions and manifest them into reality, and she is uncontrollable aside from Sereana herself pulling the reins. It obeys her because it is her, but misery to her enemies who fall under the sight of her nightmares.

Old Forests
Not dead yet! I just don't have a proper internet connection. I moved to anew place and haven't hooked it up, but I think September will be when I'm all good to go! For now, something quick I painted last month. Just trying to do things without an under drawing.

Azrael Amai: The Fire Queen
Azrael Amai, another character you meet later on in my comic Eighth Sin. She's cousins with the ice queen, Inada Amai and rules the lands down south near the equator.
Like her cousin counterpart, she controls fire, lava, heat waves/air, anything that could be hot. It is said that anyone who gets close to her will get warmer and wamrer; lay a hand on her, and you risk combusting into flame.
No one can really get near her aside from her cousin (and other elemental aspects), but the last time they did that they covered half the province in mist and fog.

Yeaaaars ago, Kris had leant me her character Azrael to use in my comic! She's changed appearances a bit (and made into a human) but the basis of this design was on Kris's character, so I wanted to make sure that was known :)

U'Chaji, Bounty Hunter
Another character from my comic Eighth Sin, U'Chaji. She has a last name, but I haven't figured it out yet. :)
She's not a main character so to speak, but she plays a part in the story. Lots of characters pop in and out and get mixed up either briefly or for extended periods along with Samara's adventures.
U'Chaji keeps to the Drylands, away from a lot of elven civilization, though one or two small camps do exist in the desert. Most however, prefer the lush forests or jungles to reside in.
She's been through a lot as you can see. I'm happy with how I drew her pose. :)

Super Noir'io Bros.
A commission I finished for my friend, Ryan!
He wanted Mario, Luigi, Toad and Daisy set in a detective office, with sort of a film noir' kind of look to it. He also wanted to keep it subtle (other than their faces :) ) on who they were in the scene, so I've sparsly added a few things to kind of hint at the world.
I think my favourite is the Bowser Kabuki mask :)

Twenty-Five Essential Expressions!
I remember seeing this floating around DeviantArt many times and thought it was a great exercise.
If I made my own, I bet I would of missed soooo many expressions! The original template can be found here: ---> http://napalmnacey.deviantart.com/art/25-Essential-Expressions-55523083
This is Samara, the lead character in my comic Eighth Sin. This is just the roughs before colouring and tidying up/fixing a few things, but thought this was reaaaaally fun to do. It's also good to reference as i draw my comic!

Beautiful Gone
Working title. Eeeh..
The girl is done in coloured pencil and the background was done digitally. Honestly, I've no clue what I was doing with the background. It'd be nice to retry doing it, but I can't work on this one anymore right now, haha.
I've had this sitting around for a week or two. I wanted something to put up while I worked away. It'll be one laaaarge dump of finished images and sketches, like I had mentioned before! So stay tuned :)

New Artwork Soon!
Heyhey, guys!
Sorry for the lack of updates in.. uhm, ages... but you'll be seeing one large, massive update from me soon!
I kind of ran into a little artist trouble along the way.. y'know, that old friend, self doubt? Well I've been hanging out with some great artists recently, and have just been sketching and working along with them, either on my stuff, collabs, whatnot... and I just got humbled.
Meaning? I feel like my stuff isn't good enough right now, or not where it's supposed to be. I don't think what I have is good enough juuust yet, but I've been drawing and practicing (and bleeding and sobbing a little) to get myself better.
Every artist is hard on his or her self, and sometimes we just have to be. It's that little extra push that's going to help us out. I'm not mad or disheartened that some people can draw or paint better than I can. It just solidifies my resolve to be better.
Some nights my sketches may look like shit, and some nights they may look better than anything I've put out. But I'll never give up.
No one ever said being an artist and living off your art was easy.
But I want to thank-you all for the patience, and that you come back here to check what I've done! I can't believe I'm up to 12,000 page views! Seriously!
Free humjobs for all! :D

Autumn at Rest
'Autumn at Rest'
Finally finished! Told myself I wouldn't do anything major for updating until I finished this. Drew it two years ago, picked at it all year and I believe I am done.
Autumn is one of my angel characters from my comic, Eighth Sin.
The only thing I didn't paint was the Monet painting. I tried to redo it but I couldn't mimic his style. I really wanted one of his 'Water Lily' images to be in the background ('cause I'm such a big fan ), so I left it. :)
I'm trying to do more environments... and actually do them quickly. So we'll see how the next one does.
But really, who rests like that?

Stry and Glee
Stry and Glee, two of seven Greatswordsman that uh... exist in Eighth Sin! You have to go through a rigorous amount of training and discipline to be able to wield one of these babies deftly.
Side story stuff, but always fun to redesign :) I haven't drawn Glee in years.

Ophelia's Dance
She's gunna be fun to choreograph a fight scene for.
Another Eighth Sin character. Ophelia likes to steal the swords of her opponents and keep them stashed away for future use. She stows them in her armoury where she can summon then from wrist/hand sized portals at will, seemingly pulling them out of thin air. She claims she never touches the ground when she fights, just bounces from hilt to hilt.
Started two and a half weeks ago, I chipped away at this between commission work 'cause I couldn't afford to give up any time. And now back to it!

A few new things...
Sorry I haven't kept up with this! It's been really busy around these parts. I plan on changing that from here on out, however! So here's a few new pieces to take a gander at :D
This was a commission piece from my friend Leigh (who has been a great supporter!). This was of him and his father, who had passed away. Both are great musicians and he wanted something serene like this to go along with his memories.
Tried a bit of a different approach to this than my usual.
Floe and Streex! Two characters you meet in issue #1 of Eighth Sin!
I had trouble doing shots of heads looking up, so I did some 30sec-1min head shot sketches from whatever I could find.
And my Blacklight painting of 'Carrie' from.. uh Carrie'.
Watch the movie of me painting it here! I just had some fun with it.

Comic-Con Toronto, March 9-10, 2013!
So my friend Ryan told me about Comic-con Toronto and that I should get a table there. And so I thought, why not? But I wanted to bring something new to the table. ... well, my table.
I decided to finish my comic. I had pages of it going for issue #0, #1, and #2, but just needed to finish them. But knowing me, I dream big and get overwhelmed, so I settled myself for finishing issue #0. For the last two months I dedicated a lot of hours into this comic, and I'm finally able to present it to everyone!
Eighth Sin, a comic and story idea I've had in my head since I was sixteen, has shaped itself out of all the experiences I've had, the friends I've made, and anything and everything inbetween.
So I finished to comic, I got it printed, and hoisted myself over to Toronto. I met so many cool people, great artists (professional and amateur alike) that I plan on doing this quite often. And one of the coolest things? Aside from meeting LeVar Burton (aka Geordie La-fudgin-Forge, and the show Reading Rainbow!) and a tiny tiny bit with Marina Sirtis, I sold everyone of my Eighth Sin comics that I printed out!
I present to you guys the cover for now. I have yet to put up any sample pages, but let's just say, there's samples everywhere in my blog. Almost every character you see is a part of this story, even if they don't play any key or pivotal role in the story.
